Got an sms in the middle of the night saying:

Vodacom has detected that your cellphone is using incorrect internet or MMS settings. Please reply 'yes' (free SMS) to receive the correct settings.

Seems odd.
 
I got this as well, but the settings didn't arrive. Best to call in and get them to send them. iPhone uses its own APN.
 
Or it could be a scam :erm: :whistle:

Love those middle of the night things.

Got one from Telkom at 6am on Saturday, after a big Friday night. Was not happy.

I checked out my settings and they're the same as on this site and my phone seems to work. The number that was used to send to message was +27(82)0099772 which is odd as messages from Vodacom have VODACOM as the sender. I've ignored it other than let you lot know about it.

They want to change my settings then they can do the carrier settings thing next update.

People leave their phones on for various reasons - I do it so that my kids can get hold of me in an emergency - I'm always there for them.

So I just love it when FNB sends me messages at 3:00 to tell me that they have received my payment from the day before :wtf:

Odd that - I can use them as an alarm clock for 7 am.
 
I use MCleaner to block all those unwanted SMS and ESP those sales calls from blocked #'s it's a cool app similar to iBlacklist
 
Yip also got the sms.. just deleted it..
If for some reason I can't use the network or connect myBB is always my 1st stop :)
