Vodacom...how to change device?

This used to be easy, on the Vodacom website, but now I cannot find it anywhere, even running the ussd code. It shows my device as an S8 but I'm using a LG G7 ThinQ, and want to change it, mainly cos when I activate my data connection the phone doesn't connect with the Vodacom data network, I have registered the phone on the network but only way to get data connectivity back is to restart phone, but if I disable data connection (cos I'm on WiFi mostly) and try reconnect 2 hours later it doesn't reconnect (need to restart phone). So figured it may be some config setting that's different between the S8 and the G7??

Check in battery settings, as mobile radio probably shutting down as not being used.
Lately Android been more aggressive on the battery saving side
