G'day, I have been connected with my new K3765-Z modem for a few days now, but pretty sure my ex E220 download speed was much much faster. Ok the upload is a wee bit quicker as it is also HSUPA.

Can't understand why when the E220 was one of the first to come out for broadband and the K3765-Z is a 2009 version. Well says that on the box!

Can anyone verify the download speeds between the 2?

The K3765-Z should support 7.2 mbps. check to see if the At command is there.

Thanks for your comments, I also should imagine that it also depends on the work load the Base Station has as well. I was informed by a Vodacom technician that the Vodacom 3G Network is so overloaded, Vodacom needs to build many more Base Stations to cope! Well that is in the Benoni Area, and have not seen any signs of any new stations being erected. Suppose much like everything else in our country "Overloaded"

Billion 3G/ADSL Router and K3765-Z Modem

Do you have the latest firmware for your Billion device installed? Otherwise contact billion SA, some people have reported getting assistance from them in the past.

Billion SA was very helpfull. They sent me latest firmware however the router still does not see modem. Problem is that modem is only recognised after the Vodafone software has loaded (when pludgged into PC). According to Billion one cannot upload drivers to Router and therefore moden will not work. If anybody has a clever way around this I would love to know.
