Anyone seen the latest advertising by Vodacom in terms of their offering iBurst in their stable of products?

Punting 3G and HSDPA as their Broadband products and iBurst as a replacement for Dial-up - not too far off the mark judging by the weakening of the iBurst signal of late.

*sarcasm on*Boy, we didn't see this coming did we?*sarcasm off*

Who wants to wager as to the outcome of this Vodacom/iBurst tie-up?

Heard the ad this morning on 5FM ... giggled my ass off at the "replacement for Dial-up" part :)

A few other ISP's are also selling iBurst now, I'm not sure if it really means anything.

The 10% stake that Vodacom owns is a bit more revealing...

I think iBurst will eventually disappear like Suctech.

Remember the promises iBurst made about 2Mbps in the near future, at the MyADSL conference last year? When I asked the iBurst rep if they'll give me discount for my R2800 modem, that will not be able to run at 2Mpbs. I think they have sleepless nights about that.

Well, my iBurst account *should* be cancelled at the end of the month and then I can really enjoy my Huawei E220 modem*.

*Thank you, Vodacom3G!! :)

I still think that Vodacom is just building up its ISP empire:D

They can all deny it, but i still say the father-son relationship will still play a big role between the two companies,

Will you like to disgrace your son, but letting the company he runs go down?

Will you like to take on your dad and bring his empire down which he has build in the last 12 yrs or so?

/me smacks the competition commision witha rotten fish
