This is ridiculous and it's effecting people even worse with the 36 month contracts...

I saw the prices of data on a prepaid number and it's extremely costly. Honestly don't understand or know how some people are managing to afford these high costs without WiFi.

This:

Clip and Contract cover

From 1 April 2022 we will enhancing the value customers get by combining clip and contract cover to the following plans at a cost of R15 per month;

RED integrated plans (Top up integrated, RED and Smart)

Data plans

Top up Flexi plans

EVB_EDB plans

and other voice plans

To opt out of contract cover customers can SMS the word "CONCOVOFF" to 31050 or refer to the T&Câs - https://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/services/insurance/contract-cover

Seems to imply that they'll be adding these onto existing contracts, and profiting handsomely from an insurance service that most people won't think of looking for in their statements? And will have to manually opt out of?

Haha! Lekker! Reason why a stopped contracts as contract means nothing. Last one I had was when MTN did the same in the middle of my "CONtract".

Anyways, MTN, Telkom and CellC to follow soon I bet.

This is ridiculous. Just another way that we the consumers are being screwed. It looks like they are looking to recoup the funds for the please call me lawsuit.

Just wish we could get away ridiculous RED prices. I had to get a contract because my phone broke before I went on holiday. 2 Years pain

I have 4 contracts with Vodacom and always had good service from all at Vodacom, but at the current economic state that everything is just going up like the petrol price, I think the only solution for me now is to let all the contract terms run out and expire and cancel them one by one and go the prepaid route... cannot afford all this increases anymore.

This is an important issue.

There are customers with 3 year contracts and Vodacom is legally allowed to change the terms of a contract at any point.

The consumer however is still legally obligated to the terms of the contract and whatever Vodacom decides to change on a whim.

Consumers are basically trapped and being exploited.

This is ridiculous.

Please write an article on this.
