Vodacom iPhone 4 roaming on MTC Namibia - cannot sms nor use the web

I am currently in Namibia roaming on MTC Namibia. I have an iPhone 4. Why can't I connect to the web although data roaming and everything is enabled? I also can't send an sms.

I went to MTC today but they say it has nothing to do with them. I can't call the Vodacom hotline from my phone, hence the thread.

Anyone?
