Vodacom iPhone 4S network blocked or not

Hi guys,

I will be travelling to Thailand in a few weeks and want to take my iPhone 4S with me to rely on some Google Maps, check mails etc. I've done some online searching and was advised to get a Thai sim card to use in my iPhone if my device is not network blocked.

So my question is, how would I be able to determine if my device is blocked or not? I am currently on a 2 year Vodacom iPhone 240 contract and got the phone for free with the contract.

Any advice would be much appreciated, feel free to add any comments regarding best ways to stay connected in Thailand.
