Vodacom iPhone 4S

Anyone else super p'd off that vodacom has been running ads saying 4S now avbailable in store when no store has stock of the bloody thing - dip*****s

I can't find a single store with stock of any model. Really grills my cheese. Anyone want to lay a complaint with ASA for false advertising. Can't say it is in stock when there is no stock. MTN seem to have a surplus but I am not sure if I want to switch networks

Probably becos MTN is too darn expensive, who in the right mind would take that deal.

Is there a specific reason why there are Vodacom iPhones and MTN iPhones? Is it not illegal to lock it to a network?

Maybe different import channels but definitely not locked as it is illegal to do so. Phones would be cheaper if they were locked though. Buyer lockin and future income and so on

So what is the reason that the iStore cannot sell a "MTN" phone on a Vodacom contract? I understand that you are not going to get a MTN phone from a Vodacom store but surely the iStore simply receives a certain amount of stock? If you are under a re-seller like Nashua are those also "network locked" ?

Took a chance and hoping Vodacom World had stock, I tried to upgrade this morning, but absolutely no stock available... Apparently maybe from Wednesday - other source say Friday.......
Let's hope the stock arrives soon. Seems Apple is struggling to make enough of these, demand outstripping supply.

To my knowledge Vodacom have not yet received a shipment of Iphones so far this month. No ETA available from the supplier. As shipments comes in it gets allocated to the stores. It is normally very limited shipments.

Be sure that the store you are dealing with have your details so they can call you soon as they have one available for you.

I received mine within 4 days of having phoned the Vodacom call-centre, to do my upgrade... Was about 2 weeks ago - but the funny thing is, they also told me that had no stock and I could wait up to 3 weeks...

Might be an option?

I got mine from the Vodacom Sandton store about 2 weeks back, couldnt get the 32Gb so has to settle for the 16Gb. I got the impression that they do have stock but they keep it for new customers rather than upgrades customers.

Nope. The 32GB is unavailable to new customers as well. (Ask me, I've ordered one)

Well, I got my black 16Gb iPhone 4s today at Vodacom World. Apparently they got very limited stock, so if you can, check as early as possible on the 15th!

Ideally I wanted a 32Gb, but I will settle for 16Gb
