Vodacom Iphone 8gig stock?

Nope, phoned around, so far everyone will be getting stock, just don't have at the moment.

Phoned them as well.... no stock...

I thought the 8GB is discontinued...

Next shipment of the Iphone 8GIG has been delayed untill the 18th Of June 2009. 3 Days grace must be given for Vodacom to book the stock in and dispatch to all stores that have it on backorder. The above date is a ETA and not a definate. It can still change due to unforseen problems, such as customs holding stock back etc.

Forget the Vodashops, go in and do your upgrade straight from an Apple store.

Doubt if there will be, with the new iPhone coming no one will restock with the older model.

I thought the 8GB is discontinued...

In addition to the new iPhone 3G S (16GB & 32GB) the original iPhone 3G 8GB will be on sale with the new OS 3.0 on it. Vodacom have been clearing their stock for the last few months now because the new model announcement was imminent.

I am pretty sure when the 3G S models arrive the pay-ins will be back to R2600 and R3600. If we are lucky the "new" 8GB models will continue to be free on the lower end contracts, otherwise I guess they will be round about R1000 pay-in for the first few months (which is in line with the $99 pay in for the US).

I don't mind paying in, but I can't afford these expensive contracts. Hope it's available on Business chat!

Where? Did you have to pay in anything?

Can you do that without changing your contract or anything?

Yup, you can.
You can upgrade your contract from basically any store where you can sign up Vodacom contracts be it a Vodashop, Cellucity, Nashua Mobile or Game. So for the iPhone, you might as well go into the iStore or another Apple store stocking the product
