Vodacom issue

Just got this message.

I didn't subscribe to anything and Vodacom just confirmed this.
How bloody ridiculous. I don't care if it's 7 rand or 100 rand.
If I don't op into something you bunch can't charge me

Unauthorized charge on an account is fraud, even when I have proof nothing was subscribed
I dont even care if it was for 1 cent, imagine how many people are having this happen to them and they dont see it?
 
Point is you won't be able to lay a charge. It's a commercial not criminal issue in their eyes.

I feel for you though!
 
I record every sigla call I make and have all the correspondence just spoke to Vodacom and explained if this isn't sorted out there will be further action against them. He assured me it would be escalated. I have never subscribed to any service since being with Vodacom and also told him that the previous agent said nothing was subscribed. I have the voice recording. They are not the only ones that record calls.

It is easy to type messages when your are upset. If it is not fraud what about THEFT?
@ marine1 Talk is cheap but actions speak louder than words every time. Supply the forum with the competent court results, then actions have spoken louder than cheap talk :)

If it isn't refunded trust me I will.
Maybe look up the definition of fraud vs theft ?
 
So today I got a text it would be reversed and then Vodacom called me and apologised.
This is one thing you have to give VC, their customer support is far superior to any other SP

MyBroadband ... can you please do an article about illegal charges such as Vodafone airG that so many are complaining about. How is it possible :
1. that Vodacom can just load these charges onto you account without your authorization
2. when you query it with Vodacom customer care they simply ignore the complaint (with a ref no) and don't resolve it.
3. is Vodacom taking commission from these charges and should they not be held responsible - someone is making mega bucks from illicit charges.
4. I contacted ICASA and WASP and they simply said they can't do anything about it.
This is a serious issue and millions of people are being affected ... surely this is will make some great journalism and something millions of people would be grateful for. PLEASE HELP US.

Vodacom benefits the most from all money made in this type of scam. They get 70% of the amount charged to you. The WASP provider and the registered “premium content provider” gets a mere 30%
