I have a vodacom K3773-Z 3G dongle. I installed the software on my Dell station no problems and connected after the restart. This worked for a month or so. Now suddenly when i switch off my PC and then back on, the device is not detected. Then i have to reinstall the VMB Lite 10.2.302 software. Everythings works only if I restart the PC. If I do a shutdown and then restart, the device is not detected again.

Any suggestions?

system is Dell Optiplex, Windows XP, SP3

Install VMB 10.3.203 from here:
http://www.business.vodafone.com/si...40_software/software/10_latest/p_software.jsp

Important: Version 10.3 of Vodafone Mobile Broadband supports ONLY the Vodafone K3772 USB Stick. Please click Continue to Download if you have the K3772.

Users of other devices, should return to the software page. Version 10.2.302 is the latest version for multiple devices. Reference the Release Notes on the software page to check compatible devices.

Welcome to the world of crappy SA software. I had to uninstall my device endless times - I eventually settled on not letting it update when my connection dropped and I had to uninstall and reinstall it just to get my computer to see it: it seemed to stay connected longer that way. It worked with the default drivers/settings but not with the updated ones.

I would say the operating system it self may have gone bad as opposed to the modem software and hence a fresh OS install may resolve the encountered problem.

What is wrong with SA software?

And besides, VMB is Vodafone Mobile Connect, not Vodacom Mobile Connect.

I use MTN thingy for all my modems :D its very easy and has a nice sms and ussd thingy. Also works with mtn vodacom cellc 8ta

Why don't you use Gingg's MDMA? The drivers are in the modem or you can get them from the net.

Vodacom's VMC software will install drivers for the modem and you can then use it with MDMA
