Just wanted to make a note here regarding Vodacom. I phoned them months ago before my upgrade to try and reserve an Iphone as I knew stock was short in Vodaland for some reason. I was told I would have to wait until upgrade date which I now have only to find out I might have to wait 2 months to get my phone! Nevermind the fact that they will be quite happy to charge me the phone fee during this period of waiting. When I asked if this fee would be waivered while I waited because of their stock problems I was met with a stony silence...

Long story short I phone MTN, they have stock of the phone, I can pick it up today and they will handle all my migration details and I should be up and running on their network with my new phone in 2 days max.

Good going Vodacom, I wonder how many (probably high spend iphone) customers you are losing this way?

Just hope Empty N don't spoil your migration by delaying it and doing what they do best after signing the contract i.e. no after sales service

Well considering the complete lack of any service I have recieved from Vodacom, it surely can't be worse?

Yeah Vodacom and MTN have useless after sales service I also moved of their network for a similar reason.
They think they're so big that it doesn't matter - well the smaller players are liking it, I gave my business to Cell C neva been happier.

well believe me it is hey.......a few friends work there and even they complain.......lol........my cuzz has been waiting 2 weeks for his phone....and he also works there.......

You want to go to MTN? You're going from worse to k@k, rather go to bad (cell C). ;)

I'm with MTN and I was up for an upgrade since September and guess what? I'm still waiting to receive my Desire HD. I'm giving them till end of January. If nothing happens till then, then I'l move to either cellC or Virgin.

guys stop moaning, either you wait or take a handset available on stock,it doest make economic sense to order a handset requested by one individual

Dude, the iPhone is not ordered by one individual, there are huge waiting lists at every vodacom store. If they bring 300 units into every shop they won't last a month. There is a massive demand and apparently they do not get enough stock from apple to keep up with it.

Sent from the MyBroadband iPhone App

ok whats wrong with MTN? i dont have any issues with my iphone on the network......though my ISP is nashua...

There you said it,stop moaning, you know very well that voda and mtn don't produce handsets, they wait for them, just like you and me...

We are in the unfortunate situation where the supplier is unable to supply stock, and when they do send stock, it is for example 500 units out of a order 10 000. This is creating a extremly long waiting period in the stores.

Thank you for your insight into the matter, Borg.

I am borg....your HTC Desire HD will be assimilated and added to our Blackberry collective. Resistance is futile! :D:p

It will take at least 10 blackberries to bring my Desire HD down.....I mean, it's a PROPER smartphone. ;)

Ok, enough of my Star Trek nerdiness :-)

Phew! Was just starting to get worried.
