Hi Guys
Long story short, I have been using Sierra WWAN EM7455 in my Lenovo laptop with a Vodacom SIM for internet. Back in Dec 2021, I upgraded my Vodacom LTE SIM to a higher package (120GB black Friday deal). Ever after that upgrade, my modem disconnects randomly and I have to reconnect it. I have tried both the Windows10 built in cellular connection manager and the Sierra Skylight manager to connect but both of them disconnects after a random amount of time. The temperature on the WWAN module hardly goes to a maximum of 45degrees. I do not have a spare WWAN EM7455 module so cannot check if the module is dying but I have used Cellc SIM in the same module and it doesn't disconnect. The WWAN module was bought off the market so I cannot take it back to the seller. dmesg log says the USB modem just got disconnected.
After googling extensively in Sierra/reddit/Lenovo/dell/wirelessjoint forums, I am starting to think if it Vodacom, that is sending a random disconnect signal?
Is anyone using a WWAN mobile broadband module (Sierra/Huawei/Fibcom) with a Vodacom SIM and have this issue?
