Haven't had connection in Midrand the whole morning with the phone reporting "No Service" until a friend sent me this:

"Damage to an optic fibre link last night has negatively affected 2G services in certain areas on the Midrand campus. Please switch your 3G cellphones to 3G to receive calls, and try to get hold of each other on landline numbers."

Noticed my phone's 3G was explicitly off, switched it on and voila - back on the network :D

Hope this may be of help to someone...

oh please. its their usual rubbish network its the most pitiful excuse for an operator i've ever seen.

i was in Edenvale, no network either.

And then when it comes back, instead of my SMS from people coming through first their rubbish advertising comes through first. They're all about money and couldnt give a hooty tooty if we have signal or not. Most of us are tied in 2-year contracts anyway.
