On 3 April 2014 (a Thursday) I filled out an "order form" online for a new contract. The deal was for a Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus on a uChoose Flexi 100 at R79 per month. I was given a reference number and it stated I should get a call from Vodacom within 24 hours. I called them on the Friday (4th) afternoon to see what was happening as I did not receive a call within the 24 hours. After about an hour of waiting, I gave up and hung up. I called again on the Monday (7th) and same story.

Now I called again yesterday to see what was happening and after over an hour and a short nap while waiting, I was woken up by a voice. They finally answered my call!! I told the lady I hadn't received a call and asked her to confirm the price (I did not give her my reference number). I told her the deal I had filled the form for and she then went to check the current deal (as they change on the 7th). The same deal is now at R129 per month. I asked if they could still go forward with the old price using my reference number and the simple answer was NO.

So now because of Vodacom's incompetence and inability to call within the 24 hours stated, I have to pay an additional R50 per month for two years. Naturally, I refused and told them I will be escalating the matter.

Has anyone had a similar issue before? If so, did you manage to get it sorted out or did you move on? Who should I escalate this with?
