I'm on Business 120 (I think) which costs R315 a month and provides R315 airtime a month, which accumulates if unused. However, for the past 3 months or so my airtime amount has been 'capped' at R1899. Is there any reason for this or do they just cap you at a certain amount?

you get a 'window' period - 6 months i think - airtime rolled over from may falls away in november if unused.

What crap. Surely this is unethical business practice? I pay and because I don't use the airtime immidiately they can just give me nothing?

Be thankful for small mercies - on my data contract with VC, there is no rollover at all - reckon they must have taken a gig or two from me over the last year and a half. Data I've paid for, and not used in time. Great business practice, SA style. Whilst I'm on the subject, a big thumbs up to Axxess, who I get my adsl from. Prepaid, and it's yours for a year or more (can't remember exactly - too lazy to look it up). I don't have to go on a downloading frenzy at month's end just to make sure I'm getting my money's worth.

I feel you with that, but it's not like I'm even talking about actual data. I pay my R315 for that much airtime each month and because I don't use it all, for any reason (not their business) they think they can just say 'ok, you don't seem to be using it so we won't give you more'. I f*cking PAY for it so give it to me!!

After 12 years on contract with VC (talk 120, same as you) I quit last month and went to prepaid. It suits my needs, which have changed since my last upgrade. I also didn't like the terms & conditions. Ever see the Al Pacino movie "Dog Day Afternoon"? In one scene Pacino tells this guy:

"Kiss me! I like to be kissed when I'm being f****d!"

Ask VC for a kiss...it's about all you're going to get outta them.

Vodacoms data bundles are not much better :(

You HAVE to use your bundle in 30 days or its gone.... but thats not the best.

If you have a data contract and in the middle of the month you buy an Ad hoc bundle, the ad hock bundle only lasts 30 days, BUT you only start using your ad hock bundle again the next month when your monthly quota is over. So if you have 200mb left of your ad hoc bundle left from september (which you bought on the 15th of sep), you have to use all of octobers bundles before the 15th just to see your 200mb you had left from your ad hoc bundle!!!

What annoys me is if I'd known this, I would've used my SIM in one of those datacards to download, rather than just wasting it.

+1. This has been like that for as long as I can remember... which reminds me, I need to put sms'es on my phone before my current ones expire at midnight

good news for all of us poor sucker who get screwed every time we buy anything from a telecoms oh *****t from any RSA company that has no bl**dy ethics or integrity the NEW CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT is what we need and you need to put your five cents in as soon as possible. We need to make this law retrospective for at least the last year, and copy from the UK their brilliant laws regarding dishonesty as well as distance selling regulations, which make the banks and credit card companies do their jobs properly!

After all if they actually supply what their staff promise we probably would not need to keep complaining

or we should take up arms and revolt like in the french revolution... only thing that will remove some of them from their thrones
