It seems Vodacom have finally made their network open access...

Attached is a letter from Vodacom.

Does anyone know of any ISPs already onboard?

I tried Cool Ideas, but they seem to have no idea.

Thanks

Alex

Lol only 5 years after they told me open access was coming soon.
They only got 4% interest in my complex so they never installed.
Thank goodness because we got a much more beneficial deal from SADV.

Sorry but I dont have an answer for you regarding which ISP's are already onboarded.
Maybe contact the email address in the letter and ask them?

Pezula in Knysna

Oh well let's see. I've sent some emails

We have not received any correspondence regarding that estate.

Did they dig fibre to the estate, or are they delivering the backbone via a microwave to their nearest tower?

It is direct with fibre. There is no microwave back bone. They dug to the estate.

Let me know if your able to assist.

You are not listing them on your website?

That's due to the fact that we've been waiting since July 2018 for letter of authority to install the NNI to them. We need physical connections to them in Teraco Rondebosch and Isando before we can sell service on their network.

We're also still waiting for wholesale pricing, as well as a list of open access estates.

May I contact you telephonically in the week? Whom may I ask for at Cape connect?

I don't stay in an estate and want to see pricing first, but yes, I am g@tvol for the poor service I receive from Vodacom and the useless international speeds.

I thought they've been open access for years but just basically never let anyone sign up? It's a bit like the OOB shark.

@portcullis Any more news on this? and does anyone know which ISP's are now available on Vodacom FTTH?

Accelerit and cool ideas are still isps on vodacom. Home connect have now stopped taking orders on vodacom. It seems that vodacom does not want to process orders for other isps on their network yet.

Ironically we went to Vodaworld to finalise the technical details and we were sent away at the gate due to the please call me protest. Our VC contacts weren't even aware of it.

I think a lot of people in our estate are ready to jump. So see what you can do.
