Vodacom Number Deleted

My Vodacom number was deleted because I didnt use it for a few months (I wont make that mistake again).
I got a new sim card in the hopes I could do a sim swap but I get "The number you are querying was deleted" when I try and do the sim swap.

As far as I can tell the number has not been re-allocated so how can I get that same number back?
I have the original sim the number belonged to if that helps?

wife had similar issues with MTN the only way was to get a contract and prove it was her number in the past just took out a low sim only contract but got the number back
 
Well this sucks.
Maybe I can wait till its allocated and ask the new owner to sell it to me.

I want to make sure this doesn't happen again.
So what are the exact requirements?

If my phone is left off and I transfer R10 airtime to it the 1st of every month, will it stay active?
Does the phone need to power on and connect to the network once per month?
Does the phone need to make a call/sms/use data once per month?

Number Deleted from Vodacom Network After 16 Years

Dear Community, I am reaching out with a sense of urgency and frustration regarding an issue I'm facing with Vodacom, and I hope someone here might be able to offer some insight or assistance. On the 22nd of March, my number, which I've had with Vodacom for 16 years, was suddenly deleted from...

There sure have been a lot of these kind of threads on MyBB. I understand if you are in another country a for for a extended period of time...but other than that, if you don't use your number for such a long time was it that important in the first place?

Not always

Had to pull some strings last year but managed to get it back

On prepaid

You'll need a contact inside Vodacom who actually gives a shyte

In my case I use the number for WhatsApp and almost never make traditional phone calls. Somewhere along the line I disabled the sim in settings. Since I have wifi at work and home I didn't notice until it was too late... I also have several accounts linked to the number that use multi-factor authentication so when logging into a new device its very important but I don't do this very often.

Any ideas on how I could find an inside contact?

Moving everything to a new number is going to be a lot of work and I know im going to forget something.

My guy has moved on.... Let me check if he still knows anyone relevant
 
number 0711838525 was deleted activate number on the Vodacom network please
