Vodacom pause contract

Is there anyway I can pause a VC phone contract? I'm going to be in USA for a year and only found out recently. I know I can cancel, but at R2400, it's not worth it Any ideas?

Unfortunately not. U can do a transfer of ownership to a friend or family member that might have use for it. Do not just stop paying it, else u will find ureself handed over to the lawyers when u get back. So either cancel, mixgrate to lower package or transfer of ownership.

I didn't know transfer of ownership was possible, is this new ?

And migrating to a lower package - I guess the handset fee stays the same but the minutes/airtime etc is lowered accordingly right?

Gosh no....I have done transfer of ownerships since I started working my first job in a Vodashop and that was like 12 years ago.

Yes, the handset fee will stay the same, but your monthly package subs will come down. There will be a penalty to pay though, depending from what package to what package you are moving to.
