Vodacom - Plan deal issues

So my plan came up for an upgrade, and my phone has been giving me issues lately, and for the most part I've been happy with vodacom. So I went online to upgrade, chose a galaxy S6 with a new package because they no longer do the plan I had. Everything goes through I get my tracking number for RAM and I'm happy.

Two days later I log on to RAM to just see where everything is at, no tracking information but the way bill is valid, so I call up vodacom just to check what's up.

The plan I applied for comes with a galaxy gear 1, now apparently it's out of stock and they are not sure they will be getting any in future. Now here's where my complaint comes in, no where on the site did it say limited stock or out of stock, I ordered the package fine, it even says my next upgrade is due in 2017. Now they want to offer me the same plan at the same price but without the galaxy gear 1.

Surely this is fraudulent?
 
My sister in law is sitting with exactly the same issue and she did 2 upgrades for the S6 with free Gear watch . Now they giving her the run around on the stock of the Gear watch and trying to get her to take just the S6 on its own . The pathetic part of it all is that the so called special is still being prominently advertised on the Vodacom website currently even though they know they have no stock as the consultant told my sister in law .

Something similar happened when I got the S5 a year back with Vodacom online and they were offering the Gear fit as a Free item with the S5 . After I did the upgrade online and the S5 arrived without the free Gear fit I had to fight tooth and nail to eventually have them just honour what they advertised . Seems to be common practice with the online store , hence I steer clear from them now and rather just go in store .
 
I could just cancel, but the point is, it seems like blatant fraud to me, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this.

Honestly, they've been doing this for years and nobody has been able to do much about it. Think you just going to stress yourself out. Can the online order and go in store instead

I agree with you that it is not right nor fair , in essence they advertised and still are and therefore should honour it ,but the reality is I doubt they will .

My sister in law has been arguing the point for a week now and has been pushed from one person to another with no joy . They even had the cheek to call on Sunday and then just offer her just the S6 's with not so much as even an apology . Not sure what she is going to do , but in the end she will most probably just end up cancelling with Vodacom online and walk into a store as I'm sure she is fed up now .

I live in Johannesburg, I'm stressed out by default, I probably won't accomplish anything but I've already started filing complaints everywhere I can, it's complete bull****.

I made complaints at the consumer affairs who pushed me off to to ICAASA, who I filed a complaint with too. I kept contacting vodacom over and over, eventually spoke to a manager, who has now promised me that they will find me a gear by the latest Friday. Whatever that's worth will be seen on Friday. I would suggest that she just harass the hell out of them, keep demanding to speak to a manager, it seems as though they don't like to be bugged.

Well seems my sister in law's persistence paid off , she received her S6 with free Gear watch today . Hope you managed to get yours sorted ?
