So the wife recharges on 6 January 2011 and activates her BIS.

A few days ago she got the standard (supposed to be scary) SMS from Vodacom informing her that her BIS service will be deactivated on 5 Feb 2011 (either 5 Feb or 6 Feb, I don't recall which at the moment) and she must please recharge before that or her email & messages may be permanently deleted.

Then she gets another (supposed to be scary) SMS from our friendly Vodacom saying that her BIS service will be deactivated on 28 January 2011, and she must please recharge before that or her emails and messages may be permanently deleted.

Low and behold, yesterday morning her BIS service gets deactivated.

Is this normal? If not, is it worth my while querying it with VC? Since the wife is on prepaid, would be easier to simply move to another service provider (I'm liking what Cell C is doing in the market)?

We're not in Cell C's magical 21.1 Mbps network coverage area, so that's not really an incentive at the moment.

@ Sodan ... if the first TEXT message from VC states deactivation on 5 Feb, how come this changed to 28 Jan and ended 27 Feb?

Looks to me like VC makes up the rules as they go along.

Nice. I am trying to get my hands on a second phone (secondary to my primary SGS :D) and it would be a BB Torch if I can land it, and this would definitely work for me ;)

My good missus is on BIS and this would be perfect.

My BIS is supposed to end on 07/02/2011. Got an sms 2days ago saying it will end on 28/01/11. Then today I get another msg saying it will expire on 07/02/11. Haven't renewed my bis yet though and working fine, as it should until the 07 of next month.

My BIS is working but its weird that when I use "Vodacom" *111# option 1 - option 8 - option 2(BlackBerry Status) I notice now that there is a second menu to cancel BlackBerry Service not sure if this is norm or what cause I have already topped up for another 2months, once I checked that option to see the time window.

Immediately after I check my BlackBerry Status I receive an sms stating:

Your current BlackBerry service period will be active until 2011-03-29.
