Vodacom Prepaid Roaming questions

Just looking for some info, as Vodacom helpline is non-existent.

I have enabled International Roaming on my Vodacom Prepaid, as I will be traveling abroad next Month.
Couple of questions.
1. If international Roaming enabled now, does that mean I'm paying international rates while I'm still in SA ? or normal SA rates.
2. Will my VC Prepaid account function ok for 5 months overseas, if I top up via bank transfer ? (I need sms's for 2FA etc.)

I think the answer to 1. is no. While in South Africa with South African number you pay local rates. The answer to 2. is yes, it will work. I have used Vodacom for three months abroad, mainly for receiving those 2FA sms. In case of issues while abroad I found Vodacom very useful when I contacted them through Twitter.
