I just tested the following and was horrified, please tell me this is not right:
Tested on iphone xs
Vodacom Prepaid Simcard: 110mbps download speedtest.net
Vodacom Red VIP Contract: 23mbps Download speedtest.net
Both run from the same device and same location at same peak time on the same day.

Now correct me if i am wrong, this test tells me that vodacom prepaid users get the fastest possible connection to deplete the data as fast as possible where the contract users are limited to speeds? This cant be true really right? Tell me im wrong please.

Nope. Logic isn't right. On contract you get OOB, which is why for them it needs to deplete faster.

Is lte even enabled on the contract sim?

Well, you wouldn't get 23mbps over 3G/HSDPA even in ideal conditions, so I'd say yes.
Hsdpa actually can hit max speeds of 42Mbps so don't know which ancient article you're reading.

Vodascum are notorious for not enabling lte by default on their contract sims.

Oh, I had no idea. I always thought the max was in the region of about 24Mbps. I've personally never experienced anything beyond 12mbps.

Just depends on if the hardware you're using is upto the task

Hiya does the contract sim display lte or not?

Well different bands. Maybe there was a shift in CA combinations. 3G vs 4G+.

Ohh yeah and on 3G you get DC-HSDPA 48Mbps. Highest I've gotten personally is like 29Mbps
