ok so i had R8.40 air time and wanted to phone someone. Knowing that rates have been reduced to R0.89 i decided to see if i would get +- 9mins talk time (8.4/0.89=9.4mins). And in the end i could only talk for 3mins 34 secs . Any ideas as to why? is voda robbing us? or is this for customers being billed on a minute basis only?

I was gonna suggest checking your itemised billing online seeing what that says (call length and charge) but I tried checking mine and they're "experiencing problems" again

Lol ?

The vodacom prepaid rate is currently R1.70, which is 2.8c per second.

As far as I know 89c is the current interconnect rate.

so then how does this rate cut affect the use users? is making a phone call even cheaper than before?
