So I need to turn in my phone to Vodacom for repair, actually more of a software problem so the phone probably needs to be re-flashed by the manufacturer. Can I turn my phone in for such issues, and do I just need to take my phone in with just the receipt or must I return it in original packaging with all the stuff it came with?

Did you flash the phone yourself? Think that voids the warranty, not entirely sure though. Worth a shot going in though?

I just restored to factory settings. Actually the main reason why I did it was cause of this issue, just had a look at my phone again and the same issues are still occurring.
Conclusion: There are a batch of faulty Nokia N8 being made, will try take in tomorrow or Friday and hopefully after awhile after Vodacom take it they'll decide a exchange is better.

I also read that it's suggested I take in directly to Nokia care points, are there any on the East Rand (let alone any in SA)?

From personal experience, Vodacom has screwed me over countless times with phone repairs. They do the job, but charge a fortune and then dont stick to warranty's. But that could be just be. I think take it in and get a quote from them. Dont expect this to be quick though.

You can take it to your nearest Vodacare if the phone was issued by VSP. If you dont have your receipt...it is not the end of the world...as long as the phone has been used with a Vodacom number, they will be able to check the warranty status on the system and book it in under warranty.

Hope you come right.

Not in East Rand, but I am sure I saw a Nokia shop in Woodmead in the new shopping centre.
