This is an alert to all people wanting to make use of Vodacom's prepaid 3G.

Vodacom is making use of a system whereby a number of clients are targeted. This is a scam whereby Vodacom ensure profits exceeding hundreds of millions of Rands.

When a client purchase prepaid airtime and convert it to Data bundles the scam starts. Vodacom does the following:

1. Before your actual bandwidth is finished (usually around 100-200mb remaining), the remainder of the bundle will be deleted and all available prepaid airtim on your phone deleted as well. When you launch a complaint you will be informed that the bundle was depleted and funds then taken from your airtime.

2. In some instances, some users will not even have used a 100mb, and the remainder of the bundle and available airtime deleted.

3. This is unconfirmed, as we have had only one report currently, but Vodacom would also delete available airtime on normal prepaid phones. Clients will be informed that they actually have used the airtime, while this is not true.

This is not a Vodacom sytem mistake, as they have been informed about this on a number of occassions before. This is a harmful business practice in which Vodacom is scamming consumers out of millions and millions.

We are in the process of laying a criminal charge against Vodacom and their MD, and will later decide upon civil proccedings.

If anyone here have experienced the same, please give me a call as we are building on and investigating the criminal matter against Vodacom.
