Has anyone had experience submitting a claim? I got a P8 Lite on contract and it included the 12 months screen repair. Screen is now cracked and I will try and claim from them.

So Vodacom repairs in Fourways refused to take the phone in because it is slightly bent where the impact occurred. I confirmed over the phone with Vodacom that it isn't an issue and they shouldn't have rejected it.

I've now logged a claim online and they should collect it sometime if all goes well :)

I have claimed three times with Vodacom Insurance - twice for a smashed screen and once for a stolen phone. On all three occasions, I was sorted within 24 hours and had no issues whatsoever.

I have been so impressed by this that I wish Vodacom could insure everything for me - my car, my home, my health... :)

I hope you have the same experience. Being without a phone is pretty awful (for me at least).

New phone within 24 hours?

I have to say, Vodacom insurance is very good when it comes to cell phones. The times I have had to submit a claim for clients it was mostly approved either the same day or the next day, provided all docs are correct etc. Also, if the phone can be repaired, then the Vodacom Repair center pretty much does the claim for you. Same should be with the screen insurance. Tell the Vodacom Repair center you have screen insurance on your contract and they will take it from there.

What is VERY VERY VERY important with Vodacom insurance is this. DO NOT USE THE SIM THAT CARRIES THE INSURANCE IN ANOTHER PHONE! If you do, then the device you intended to cover is not covered anymore while that sim is in a secondary phone. If something happens while that sim is not in the phone you wanted insured, you are buggered.

Yup. And this is how crazy it was - my phone was stolen on a Sunday. I filled out the insurance claim form on Sunday afternoon and it was approved before midday on Monday. I picked up my new phone on Monday afternoon. Normally insurance claims take forever to process, but this was unbelievably quick and hassle-free.
