Vodacom shutdown threatened

The Vodacom CEO is being completely stupid here. For his own sake.

The court has issued an order. It cannot be argued with.

If an application for contempt is brought before the court , because the amount was deliberately and clearly unreasonable , that application may be granted.

The CEO may then find himself explaining why he shouldn't be jailed for contempt. "Saving his company money" is not an argument that is going to fly here. He may end up finding himself in the slammer.

Whether money should or shouldn't be paid is a ship that has sailed.
That ship has indeed sailed and in another harbour...

Makate is a gold digger with a lotto mentality. "Collect Call" and "Reverse Charges" are concepts that have been around forever. It was only a matter of time before this became available on mobile phones. What exactly did Makate "Invent" that entitles him to win the jackpot. The offer on the table in more than generous. He should take it.

Go read the court case:

LOL, we don't know the offer on the table and never will.

The big problem with this whole issue is that thie guy can no longer accept R10m. Way too many people and groups poured money into his case and everyone wants their investments with returns back. None of them are happy with few hundred K, since most probably invested way more than that.

This matter is not about Makete getting compensation anymore. It is about greedy sharks in the background. Vodacom should pay him just the normal compensation they would as with any other employee with an innovative idea.

Let the matter go back to court and let them decide.

This is no place for politics. Lesufi is known for turning violent masses against people when he does not get his way, often ending up in dire circumstances for everyone. He should be locked up in jail.

If this is what SA is turning into for big businesses, then this country really deserves to suffer.

It’s time this so called “movement” discloses who it’s “controllers” are and what their financial interests are. If there’s ever a payout then who stands in the queue with their hands out?

Even if 'Billions' are paid, Makete himself will walk out with very little money. That is 100% guaranteed. There are a group of people behind him who financed this drive, who thought they would make 'billions', who are now putting pressure to get these 'billions'.

No, since government got involved in this, I cannot but help wondering how many politicians or even how the ANC itself stand to benefit financially from this. There needs to be a private investigation where the ANC has no access to or control over those investigating them and their finances.

Somehow, I do not think things are rosy for Makete and by now he probably wishes he was never involved in this at all.
