Vodacom: SMS'es continually failing

Hi guys,

Really need a hand here - when I send sms's half the time an error message is returned saying "message not sent", if I keep trying though the sms eventually does go through.

I tried switching phones, did a sim-swap, sat on the phone with a vodacom agent for 30 minutes, however still at square 1, and am totally lost. It must be the Vodacom network, but at the same time it can't be as nobody else I know on Vodacom is experiencing this.

The only difference is I ported over from cell-c about 6 months ago, sms'es were working perfectly until about 2 weeks ago though...

Any idea's / advice, really appreciated!

Which message centre number are you using?

It must be your phone, what phone you using? Check your centre number and also try deleteing most of your sms's.

I tried using both message centre numbers *119 and *129 or whatever - no difference.

As for it being my phone - very very very unlikely, as both different phones did it (HTC Tytn, and a Nokia)

The vodacom call-centre guy, diligent as he was, was also stumped.

Yeah its happening to all numbers and on all networks - vodacom / cellc / mtn etc...
