Hi all,

I am trying to send email using my Sony Ericsson K700i cellphone. I have GPRS etc setup and I have even successfully setup incoming mail with my web based account.

I have spoken to Vodacom but their stuff doesn't seem to work.

I have tried:
smtp.vodacom.co.za (can't find server)
smtp.vodamail.co.za (finds server but mail sent error)

I am connecting with my Internet.GPRS account althought I have tried with MMS.GPRS as well.

Is anyone else having problems??? :confused:

Are you sending the email from and to the phone itself, or are you just using it as a GPRS modem for your laptop or PC?

I'm out of office a lot and bluetooth from my laptop thru to cellphone thru GPRS (MTN). I've had no problems (except for getting the GPRS/bluetooth to work in the first place). If the GPRS connects then I can connect to our mail server.

Vodacom should be able to sms the settings thru to you but one thing I did notice your incoming mail server should be mail.vodawhatever... and your outgoing should be smtp.vodawhatever...

Jup, got the same problem.
Samsung D500.
I got, nice email POP and SMTP settings for my Yahoo Account. I just get 'server error' on my cellphone. Can anybody in SA send and recieve email through their built-in Email (Not through the web browser) on their cellphone?
If so, pls let us know.

Samsung D500 Vodacom Email Settings

Okay, don't worry.
Got my email working! Wasn't that difficult after all.

outgoing SMTP server = 'smtp.vodacom.co.za' on port 25
incomming Server = 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk' on port 110
if you use yahoo, use your own pop server address above if not.

APN = internet
APOP = disable
DNS1 = leave blank
DNS2 = leave blank

Smokalot - are you still having problems with the email. If you are trying to access gmail from the messages>email and get the error invalid certificate authority, you need to download the certificates that gmail use via bluetooth or cable. I have a Sonyericsson K750i and couldn't access my email via the phone, I downloaded the certificates and now everything wotks fine. If you need the certificates, just pm your email addres and I'll try send it, it's only a few kilobytes.

i have the same problem with the nokia n95, anyone know how to fix this?

can get incoming mail, but cant send anything
