Vodacom took 222mb from me while sleeping!!!

On hello peter, somebody got their data back, because the vodacom connection dropped in the middle of the download (200 odd mb), forcing them to start over...
 
Did you leave it connected to the Internet when you took a nap? If its on your pc Windows Updates etc etc will drain your data

What I thought. Something auto-updating or checking for updates. My apps are all on manual update for that very reason.
 
so i tweeted on vodacom a screen shot of the 38min holding phone call and a call centre agent got in contact with me, i acknowledeged that it may have been an app or updates and so did the consultant however even tho he said that it was probably due to updates he still loaded a 150mb data bundle for compensation! real happy with the outcome and big ups to vodacom for looking after their customers!
 
Mobile Broadband uses a lot more data for its pings and such because it needs to access the Internet and reach servers through ARP proxies. Which means it have to send out twice the amount of roundtrips than you will do with ASDL for example

Please back up your ridiculous statements with facts. Anyone with a HSPA+ network is either already on (or close to) a full IP network.

People like making things up yo sound smart, works brilliantly till someone who is actually smart, or at the least knows what they talking about comea along and makes them look like complete fools.

I'm basically having the same problem after installing a new rom (Cyanogen) on my Galaxys S2. My Data Manager app showed 'Google Services Framework' to be the culprit, I tried to block it with Droidwall but to no avail (I am rooted). Some Google app or service just wants to keep syncing I think. I haven't resolved the problem yet. Did you perhaps install a new email client/app or calendar app recently, before you realised data was being chowed?

Was reading an article on gizmodo about ics's features and they recomended onavi as a data mobitor, checked out but to me its pretty useless but it looks to have a soft firewall capable of blocking app from accessing the net without root, also has all of mdm's paid features yet its free, if it works should be very useful to you.
