Hey all,

So I talking to the security in my complex today and they said that they will be putting some sort of tower in my complex to improve signals (apparently people have being complaining about signal in my complex).

What I am wondering is, can this open the possibility of LTE or possibly a Wireless service?

if everyone agrees to the tower being erected, then the chances are that yes it will be fibre'd up and will have LTE, very slim that they wont deploy it like that.

So to answer yes not only will it improve signal but should be LTE enabled too :)

Thanks for the reply! Apperently it will be done withing 6 weeks.

Saw your post in the other thread i made and I wonder if Mobile Torqe will be able to use the tower for line of site.

The tower will litterally be 500 meters (roughly) from where I live and will basically be pointing right at my flat lol

lol. uhm no.

Notice the wording "some sort of tower". OP is likely looking at a smallish repeaters here (they put them in @ building with persistent complaints) and they certainly won't support full speed...not for some random complex. As a reference point...OR Thambo has high end repeaters installed...and even those aren't LTE.

In short...yeah go for it. Can't hurt. Realistically though you're probably looking at improved 3G coverage though.

While looking for a Fibre Service, I just got told the following thing:

"I have checked on the location provided and although it falls into the general fibre coverage area, your location is not currently fitted with an active fibre line. We can make the FTTH service available to your location and your neighbors from the closest fibre route which is down your street, provided we can obtain a combined customer uptake of R10 000 per month along the new fibre route.

However I also see that there is vodacom fibre under construction going into your complex, so you need to confirm with your neighbors if they signed up with vodacom, as we cannot bring DFA into your complex to one unit only."

This was when I was looking at Lightspeed.

Does this mean that Vodacom will be my only option for FTTH or can I use another service using their line?
