So my dad was recently subscribed to a subscription service named 'Opera Telecom', without his consent. This was done on the contract for his Vodacom 3G USB modem, which helps the fact that it was impossible for him to do, as there is no way to sign up for these things through the interface.
It, quite literally, randomly appeared on his bill last month totalling R2100. He has since stopped it, but according to Vodacom, there is nothing they can do to recover the money?
Has anybody experienced anything like this? If Vodacom allows subscription services to be added to an account bill without the user asking for it, then there is a serious issue somewhere...
