My wife's phone is due for an upgrade in August. But 2 weeks ago she got a sms to upgrade her phone. I went to a Voda shop, gave them the number and they said said she can upgrade and told me which phones are available. I choose a phone and today went to another Voda shop, lady confirmed I can upgrade. I said I just need to go to another business, after getting back another woman help me. This woman told me that, next month I need to pay extra, as I am only due for a upgrade next month.
I thought of sharing this, because they are wasting my time. My wife old phone is still good, so I am only going to upgrade next month

seems like a good enough thread to pick up from.

contract is past 24 months, planning on continuing with handset and giving new one to wife.

What's the best way to do an upgrade?
over the phone, are you kidding me - the agents are forced to push a contract that you don't need on you. I have had three now call me and they propose a larger plan and in the next breadth explain that you're not using your current plan fully.

online? The only reason why i haven't done this yet is because it seems the website has so much information but none of it is ordered. Also, the upgrade process seems to be temporarily offline as well.
I'd like to compare the plans:
select one
pick a phone option

is there no simple way to see what you can get on:
Red flexi vs Red Core vs Red VIP?

it appears the whole process is designed to confuse you. Should i just select the phone first?

instore: it's a schlepp, you pay more but probably the quickest option?

upgrade you say? sounds more like a contract lock in to pay off something you cant afford? want a new phone, buy one - financing a mobile phone, for what? keeping up with the jones's or opening whatsapp faster

I realise maybe friday afternoon is not the time for serious answers, but "upgrade" is the term they use. technically it is a contract extension even if it is normally a fancier phone. I'm not really here for the contract vs prepaid debate, there are threads for that already but the account is through the business so that's reason enough.
To really complicate things further, the actual handset will not be the latest/greatest and probably the lowest possible on the payment plan. I will be keeping my CATS52, it's a bullitproof phone and handles everything perfectly 26 months into use.

Why would you fill @upup's weekend with the sadness of such horrific memories?
because what the thread title says on the box is exactly what the discussion point is. sure i could have started another new thread, but then i wouldn't have got some great answers that might not really have dealt with the topic but at least up the engagement level so someone with a constructive word could chip in.

well then, do all three options, maybe you get three new lowest denominator handsets or maybe downgrade your 'contract'

incredibly useful advice, appreciate it.
anytime ! i've a question for you, i know i need to take a dump later, what's the best way to download this important bm; do i
- do it online, ask stupid questions on the internet?
- purge the bowels at home in comfort
- wait till i get to the restaurant and allow the patrons to savor the fragrance of my farts?
