vodacom ussd data bundle query

i have a smart120 contract with vodacom. i regularly check my remaining airtime for the month, my remaining sms's and my remaining data. to do this, i use the ussd service as follows:

to check my airtime:
*111#
option 1
option 2.
or i can enter it in one go as follows:
*111*1*2#

likewise my sms bundle:
*111*1*3#

however, when i try *111*1*5# (for my data balance), it always returns an error. this necessitates my having to go through the menus to see my data balance (with the attached annoyances of time delay, having to put my phone on silent, not being able to assign this to a speed dial).

any ideas why this is so? anything i am missing?
 
Try *111*500# and *111*502#

OMG I have been using that *111# menus for how many years and now I hear about *111*500#

AND LOL when I try *111*502# is says I have 24956MB left :D bahahahahahaha when in actual fact I only have 24.37MB left :(

I have laid a complained but according to them it's correct. :confused:
 
And for MTN contract? Currently using *162*pin# which does not give data balance?
 
why on earth are these codes so hard to find? or even to hear about? surely it makes sense for the networks to advertise them?

They seem to have mixed up their MBs and KBs.
