Got a dear friend who was just given a MMS compatible phone but trying to get GPRS enabled on her SIM card via the Vodacom Web****e just gives:

Why on earth do they have a web****e?

Why do they even sell SIM cards with GPRS not enabled???

It took me 20 minutes of trying last night just to get some settings. It usually bombs out on the 3rd page as well.

Yip it does but thats because GPRS could have went down and 10000s of people start using it, if you do it now it will be fine.

It works for GPRS/WAP settings (that are already on the handset and tested) but not to data enable a 2006 generation SIM card!

This assumes that the person you actually speak to knows that you want the SIM data enabled and not handset GPRS/WAP settings!

What network on planet Earth sells a GPRS/MMS enabled handset and then supplies it witha SIM card that this not data enabled?

This is not 1995... Cellular has moved on!

Is it a 32k prepaid sim?
You have to wait to receive all 6 sms, it does everything automatically these days.
