What the?

Recieved a message this morning

"Vodacom Balance Notification, For you information. MANATORY (sic) ACCOUNT LIMIT REACHED SUBSCRIBERS SOFTLOCKED"

Been trying to get through to vodacoms service centre for hours with no luck, then I started recieving another message.

""Vodacom Balance Notification, For you information. Account has been unlocked"

I've now had 10 of those and still coming in?? and still can't make any calls or connect to 3g

Anyone else having issues?

I'm guessing that the two shared call center staff are answering the Telkom phones today, they might make some time between tea and lunch tomorrow to answer a few vodacom lines if I'm lucky.

Yea sorry to derail but wow ... the phoning annoys me like you have NO idea! My heart sinks when I need to phone Vodacom for any reason :/

it is quite possible worse than trying to phone Telkom. I've developed the theory that Telkom & Vodacom share a call center, and that they randomly select which phones they will be answering on the day.

Well if you as creative as y the title of you thread, no wonder you cant get what you need!

How old is your account?

Insert wildly pointless & creative title to attract attention here

I'm sincerely apologize if my lack of eloquence and creativity offends you, you must have a very creative soul, or maybe you just enjoy baiting threads...

However I really fail to see how being more creative while either waiting for a phone that is never answered, or reading the same SMS for what has now been th 32nd time will help anything.

That aside you did at least ask a marginally constructive question, well my account is more than 10 years old, so no, it's not a case of a new account having a limit on it until some sort of history has been created on the account.

What type of SIM card do you have ?
Perhaps it's related to an old 8K or 16K SIM.

Take this as constructive criticism of your chosen thread title

Nondescript thread titles are not a good idea for several reasons: we don't all have time to read through waffle to find out what a thread is about; many forumites don't even read a thread if the thread title doesn't tell them what the thread might be about - that means that anyone else with the same issue is not likely to read the thread you started; also choosing a decent thread title is important for anyone searching for related threads - like myself when I have to merge one or more old threads with a new thread - I most likely would have read the older threads but searching for them based on thread title is often a pointless exercise, especially with a nondescript thread title like "Vodacom.....".

Hi IC, I agree that the thread title was not very descriptive, and you are correct in that it could have been better, but to be honest at the time I couldn't think of a proper title for the thread.

JK8's comment however was completely unconstructive and to top that off he has created numerous threads with equally non descriptive one word titles.

I don't mind constructive criticism, but backhand insults are a whole differrent matter.
