I am suitably impressed. After three days of fighting with Vodacom account (On non 3G related issues), one PM to Vodacom3g got me a callback from someone in Vodacom that knows what's going on and seems to be able to resolve my problem.

Thanks Vodacom3G - You outdid yourself again.

I must admit Vodacom have shown to be on the ball with thier 3G offering.

I just wait in the hope of affordable pricing one day, because sure as the sun shines, I ain't forking out R600 for 1gig !

:D

Agreed bb_matt. 3G is starting to look like a very good solution. Just wait for 2mbps to arrive. Its just a pity that the high prices are holding back a lot more widespread adoption which is a great pity. With Vodacom's expertise and proffessionalism (sp?) I wouldn't hesitate to get 3G if it was reasonably priced. None of these companies seem to understand that at the end of the day what really matters the most is low prices. They all try to do their utmost to try to persuade us otherwise with their little marketing gimmicks but unfortunately for most people they still just can't afford it. Until something is done to bring prices within reach of more of the population we'll never see internet penetration be what it should be. And I personally don't believe we'll see a great improvement anytime soon. There are too many other agendas to be served which stand in the way of serving the interests of the people of SA.

It seems as if the uptake is fast enough to keep Vodacom happy.

As long as they are happy the way 3G is growing, there is no need to lower prices.

It is an act of Vodacom balancing what they are able to offer, and the rate at which they can grow the offering with the demand from customers.
