COULD SOMEONE HELP ME OUT AND TELL ME HOW TOO CONNECT MY 3G TO PS3.
I HAVE A NOTEBOOK WITH VISTA.
I'VE TRIED WITH MY BROTHER IN LAWS NOTEBOOK AND HE HAS WINDOWS 7 AND WE GOT IT WORKING, I JUST CANT GET IT WORKING ON MINE...:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Stop shouting.

Solution, get rid of Vista
- TRUE That...

But if you want to connect your 3g to ps3 you need a cross-over cable: then follow these steps:

Heres what you need to do:

a. you need to share the 3G connection via Local Area Network (NETWORKING)
b. you need to change the LAN ip to 192.168.0.1
c. you need to set up internet connection manually on the PS3
-most settings you can leave as automatic, its the ip settings you will have to input manuallly
IP settings:
IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask (or whatever) : 255.255.255.0
default router: 192.168.0.1
primary and secondary dns settings are required from the 3G card itself
when 3G is connected go start-->run-->cmd ipconfig/all
and you'll check the ip's for primary and secondary dns which need to be entered on the PS3 ip settings !
okay test the connection and that should be it !

Check the firewall if its still not able to connect.

GOOD LUCK!

Not really helpfull answers... Edit: except for soldierboi. ;)

Close. :)

You have to share the 3G connection with ICS (internet connection sharing) in vista. This will automatically change your pcs' ip to 192.168.137(or 0).1.
On the PS3, you will use
IP 192.168.137(or 0).2
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.137(or 0).1
DNS 192.168.137(or 0).1

Can't remember if Vista changes the IP to 192.168.137.1 or 192.168.0.1, but I know in Windows 7 it is 192.168.137.1...

im gonna try these settings, hopefully it will work. if not, then stuff vista, ill put on windows7. thanks people...

This! It's the ONLY way I could get my internet working through the PC. Just make sure the default gateway is correct.

still didnt get it to work. when i connect it says dns settings problem(something like that). gonna change to windows7, sure it will work...

Hey guys

I'm also struggling trying to get this to work. I suspect its because when doing a connection test from the PS3, the Vodafone Connect software disconnects the 3G, meaning I have to connect it manually again afterwards. How can I setup a connection without using the Vodafone software? Using Windows 7.

1. Open Network and Sharing center.
2. Set up new connection or network.
3. Connect to the internet -> Next.
4. No, create new connection -> Next.
5. Dial up -> Next.
6. Choose the vodafone modem -> Next.
7. Dial-up phone number = *99# / *99*0000# / *99*0001# (you will have to play with this)
8. Blank username and password. You can change the connection name if you want.
9. Connect.

After that, follow the above step to share it.

No one seems to be pointing out that the PS3 will not connect to an adhoc network, which is why the XP & Vista solutions don't work. With W7 you need to use connectify which will do everything for you.

Connectify turns your W7 machine into a wireless hotspot.
