vodacom4me email service

so i went to the vodacom4me wapsite today, and there is now an "e-mail" link on the frontpage.
when you click on it, it brings you to a screen which says "welcome to the vodacom4me email service"

you then have an option to register, but i'd like to know what i'm going to be registering for, first...

29 bucks a month... i had assumed it would be free (like a certain competitor's offering, for instance )
i think i'll just stick with gmail, thank you very much
