Is it me or is Vodacom's BIS throttled to the limit, at this very time my Bold can't get over 30KB/s thats slower than my ADSL and don't expect to me to believe that crap off the network to be under pressure !

Anybody else experiencing this ?

Not seeing a problem,is your email taking too long to download?

Dont blame vodacom, blackberry sucks.
This is the Blackberry part of the forum so I don't see your point in trolling.

Its not only the email that troubles me which really is a major part of my daily life, its the the problem with BBM and time outs with web browsing:(

Hope Vodacom will sort this out as my friends on other networks aren't experiencing this and it frustrates me:mad:

Iva head 3 blackberries, my statement comes purely our of enlightenment, that plus the fact that rims downtime issue has NOT been solved, its been recurring periodically ever since the big 4 day disaster, including what 2/3 days ago when a number of subscribers on all 3 local network and a number of networks across Europe were also experiencing down time ranging from 4 - 30 hours.

These days any problems is almost certainly on RIM's side so the immediate jump to blame your provider is also pointless.

Seriously with this other down time a few days ago it was random to the extent that people in the same building were differently affected, network irrespective.

+1 I've been with Vodacom for years, and for the past 3 months my BIS has been so bad its barely usable. I have tried contacting them, but they never respond. Will be porting to another network next week since Vodacom clearly doesn't care about customer service.

Yeh, last week (and maybe the week before) I was also having those dumb-ass speeds but they seem to have come back to reality. I know that during the day, the speeds of 30kbps are normal (at least, historically for me) but between 23h00 and 07h00 I normally get about 120kbps.

I have given up on browsing on my 9300, which apparently has 3G, it times out more often than not. Then when I switch to non-BIS data, like youtube, the thing works like a charm. Meh!

My next phone is Android.

I have to agree, ever since the big RIM outage a few weeks back it has NEVER been the same since. I am in constant contact with Voda engineers who keep fixing things which makes it work great for all but a few hours and then it's broken again. Last night it took 7 minutes to open a mobile web page sized at 24kb, yes 24kb in 7 minutes. Vodacom keeps blaming RIM and RIM just sits in silence. The fact that users from other networks don't seem to be reporting this makes me believe it's a Vodacom issue but it seems no matter what they fix someone keeps breaking it.

Add to this the un-fixable nasty Blackberry "Switching to SOS Mode / Sim Rejected problem" that has been ongoing for over 10 months now and we really sit with a useless service.

I have loved Blackberry since I got one 3 years ago but in the last year I have grown to hate it more and more and more each day.

I used to be able to open my BB browser with my home page "google.com" and do a search on something all within 5-10 seconds. these days this can take minutes to achieve that and by the time it opens anything I have forgotten what I was looking for ...... not great phones for people starting to lose their memory.

I am now seriously considering a new platform. On numerous occasions this year my phone has died with the "Sim Rejected" error and when this happens my phone is DEAD, no incoming or outgoing calls or anything. In this country we live in that is just too much of a risk now, what if someone was in dire need of my help.

Yeah on my 9870 which also has 3g it's way to slow to even load a normal website. BB service just sucks for web browsing on Vodacom IMHO.

My home and office are in vodacom 3G covered areas but my vodacom BB always shows edge. I use a vodacom 3G modem and get that runs on 3G speeds in the areas. It is definately not vodacom but rather the bis service.

My BB has recently being dropping the BIS service when i open webpages and I have noticed data charges on the invoice. No one at Vodacom can tell me why except I must book my phone in and they will look at it.

My girlfriend has a 8520 on MTN. I wish my 9700 Vodavom 3G could get MTN EDGE speeds.
Vodacom BIS is either being throttled or they are over subscribed!

+1 I am in the exact same situation, at first I thought it was RIM, but when my cuz came with her BB and her fast speeds on Cell C, I was then truly convinced that Vodacom is the trouble. Yet they have ignored me when I alert them of this issue.. I wil be leaving them for another network, this has been going on for far to long.
