No the phone doesn't support 3G. I'm sitting next to a window but not able to do the speedtests now. Using Virgin, not Vodacom. I'll set up outside tomorrow with Vodacom and see what happens. Any suggestions on a time a should do it? Only get back from work after 3pm

Anytime - preferably run a few tests - different times, you also might want to test throughput with a 3G|HSDPA modem if you can borrow one - reason being that the 2G network is old tech limited by a shortage of timeslots and IMO suffers more from congestion compared to 3G, whereas 3G|HSDPA doesn't use timeslots - although more base-stations are required for 3G|HSDPA.
