Vodafone-branded LG KS360 - RESOLVED

Will a Vodafone-branded LG KS360 also be able to access GPRS and MMS functionality on the CellC network?

SMS and normal calling works fine.

My SIM's already enabled for data access - it worked previously on a Nokia N95 without any issues.

I've already sent off a couple of *147# notifications, haven't heard anything yet.

On the phone itself, there's a CellC GPRS and MMS access point, as well as the other specific settings as stickied in this thread.

Anybody have any idea?

Glad you got it sorted!

Unfortunately you now have no warranty on the phone as Vodacom does not want you to put a sim from another network into their phones.

They're just crazy - what can a SIM do to a phone?

Just another convenient excuse to "lock" their customers to their networks...

And nowhere was it told (or shown in writing) that I must not put in a sim from another network...

Well, if you read the warranty section on the vodacom website, you will see they have pages of fine print that customers are normally not told when buying a phone ...

Thanks for the headsup - that is illegal, but I haven't got a chance against them should the worst happen.

Yip got the same phone on Vodacom and the lady at Game rambled off some things I can't remember or care about. Only heard the part about "if your put a different network's sim in your phone you lose your warranty".

And those phones freeze up quite a bit and switch off constantly so I'd rather not lose the warranty. Although they take like two months to do repairs.
