Hi

Firstly, my apologies to the moderators I am unable to find any section regarding Telkom 3G.

I have a Vodafone Huawei E220

I got a Telkom starter pack today and want to use the Vodafone E220.

Unfortunately when I plug it in to any PC nothing happens, not software gets installed, it just says its installing a Huawei USB mass storage device.

I would like to know;

1) How do I get the software to install - I am guessing a Firmware update will probably be in order,

2) Is there a dashboard for Telkom or do I have to use a generic one?

*EDIT*

I apologise for the slightly useless thread.

I went to http://www.dotelkomphones.co.za/product_huawei_e220.htm and it has all the software incl. drivers, firmware and mobile partner.

Hopefully this thread will serve as information for those in my position.

I'm interested to find out as well. I'm planning on moving over to telkom as soon as I can, alot cheaper.

Well I will be downloading the software at work, unfortunately my Virgin airtime is low so I can't get connected tonight.

This is an interesting question. If I want to move over to Telkom 3G, do I just swop the VC sim for the Telkom sim? I have a Novatel MC950D.

Slightly off topic, but is the Do 3G a month to month contract? or do they force you to take out a 24 month contract? I have a 3G card, so i just need the sim card and activation (free till end of November 08).

the coverage provided by Telkom for this service is VERY limited according to the map on the website.
