Hi guys,

I just need some advice on which of the following two modems would you recommend? I'm taking up a contract and have the choice of either a
Vodafone K3565 USB modem or the Huawei E230.

Thanks

My vote is for the Huawei E230, the flash-stick style modems like the K3565 tend to have power problems.

Why could they not revive the E272 under some new guise? It really looked so much cooler than the E220.

Thanks for your response mate, but I do not see how that relates to my question. Am I missing something here ?

Hi. I am not familiar with the E230 modem. The K3565 is 3.6 ready...which is fine because on Vodacom you will be automatically provisioned for that speed. The other modems that is 7.2 ready wont be able to make use of that feature unless you subscribe to Vodacoms Advanced Data bundles at a higher cost. I have not heard any complaints about the K3565. If you really really want your modem to be 7.2 ready, then you can consider the K3520 modem.

What do you mean by "flash-stick style" ? I'm asking because the following picture of the Huawei E230 does look like the modem is a "flash-stick style" one (i.e assuming I understand what you mean by that :) )
The E220/E230/E270/E272 are separate units connected to the PC by a USB cable.
Compare that to this picture of an E169.

There's the E510, but it's still a shame Vodafone discontinued the E272.

Just idle semi off topic banter.

Fortunately I persisted and looked for more links, otherwise I would have thought it was a laptop being attacked by sports hooligans wearing buffalo helmets
