Anyone using vlive over there ?
Never had a 3G phone until I got here and got setup with a 6680.
I've used it a bit, but with such a tiny screen, it's a frustrating experience and I've no idea how much it costs (until I get my first bill) - apparently vlive is free, but accessing external websites here costs a few quid a mb. Nobody can give me an exact figure on that tho. I also used my phone as a modem, until I found out that the virgin pop number is not counted as being part of the minutes package - yipe ! - stopped that pretty damn quick
The vlive TV is free here till Jan 31st, gave it a try, but again, with such a small viewing screen, it's an odd experience. Also, depending on your network connection reliability, it can be really choppy - especially as I think the 6680 can only render at 16fps or something like that.
I was suprised to find that data on 3G is expensive here too, in fact, all pay-for wireless services are damn pricey.
Good thing is, I can get travel news about trains/buses on the move, which is damn useful.
Can't wait till prices drop, screens get bigger and bandwidth increases.
Would be good to have an option to plug it into a laptop and view vlive content on a larger screen.
I also hope that costs between UK and SA go down, I'd love to try doing a video call to friends, or send photos and vids.
