I recently got an email from MTN informing me that they are in the process of mirgating the voice services to a NEW platform.

Has this been completed as the email stated that one would have to set up their voice mail again and also have a ablity to setup video voice mail?

They mentioned that I would get an SMS stating the mirgation was complete?

The voicemail upgrades are being done in batches so I would have to relate the timing to your cellphone number. Private mail me if you want. You should get an SMS when it is done. The video voice mail is linked to upgrades to a USIM and if you get a USIM your voicemail is upgraded at the same time regardless of your number.

So, the glenayre is eventually is eventually going live.
Should be an experience.

Hi MTN Broadband.

I would have to disagree with you regarding the upgrade of voicemail to videomail once a new 128k USIM is used. Our 3 phones were upgraded recently to 3G with the new USIM's and all of them are still on the old voicemail platform. In fact MTNSP is charging me R14 a month on each of the contracts for a videomail service that isn't even active!

Looking forward to a response on this.

Video Mail Number

I phoned 808 lastnight to get the number for dialing into video mail .. I was informed it is 105, bow there is the crunch!

At home "Northside" I get 3G coverage and when I dial 105; "You have reach an invalid number"

At the office "Braynston" I get NO 3G cover and when I dial 105; I get video mail!

Any suggestions!

Update!

I evenually, finally got my video mail working. After dashing arround JHB from 14th Ave to Sandton to Bryanston.

The PROBLEM! ...

THEY (808) DID NOT LOADED IT WHEN I AKSED THEM, the excuse I get is that the systems (the two separate ones) did not talk to each other and finallise the UPDATE for NEW mailbox. After they forced it on the "live" system then I got an SMS from 105 to "Welcome me to the 3G Network". So if you have requested video mail and don't get this SMS then it AN'T working.

Now I just need good 3G cover ... seems that most of the 3G area have very weak or NO 3G.
