Voice recorder vs smartphone

HI Guys.

I need to do some interviews and am currently deciding if I should get a dedicated voice recorder or just use my s7. Apparently the mic on the voice recorders are bigger and thus able to pick up more accurately. The interviews would probably be one on one in either a coffee shop or office setting. Any experience or thoughts would be appreciated...

Am sure you can get a external mic for your phone aswell...

Get a dedicated recorder. A Lot of phones will pause the recording if you get a call.

Proper recording software on a S7 would be sufficient. It locks out the phone so uninterrupted
