have 2 say rpm nice nice the new front page looks very well planned out.
plus the votes easy on the right

anyways just in regards to the VOIP article its interesting 2 note that the law states that if the call doesnt go out of the network that it originated in(private network) then the call can be carried legally right?
it seems the moment the call goes out of a private network and switches over to public network that it becomes illegal.
so for instance if i make a call with my sentech modem to someone else who also has a sentech modem then thats perfectly legal cause its a private network and it doesnt carry over to the public net.

If i fone family in europe an the call goes through sat3 then its illegal but if it goes through the satellite side of sentech then its perfectly fine.
what i want to know is that if the call finishes at a normal tele which is part of an international public net is that illegal.?

Proud South african rip offs.

Another question here. It is possible to set up a Virtual Private Network which has links that tunnel through the Internet (public network). Is this still considered to be a private network? If it is, nobody can prevent you from running speech over it.

As far as I know it is even illegal to run voice over your Diginet links that connect subsidiaries of your companies. Many big companies used to do that because they thought they could save on internal telephone cost and use idle bandwidth at the same time. But big brother took them to task once again and they had to remove these circuits.

I think you can run voice between companies you just can't break out the other side.

Call placed in JHB , jumps to Leased line to CT, then onto pabx on site which places a local call out to any CT number.

This is a nono according to teluknowu but if it stays in your branch then ????
