Hi everyone,
We are finally going to be shifting to Fibre from ADSL in the next week or two and are debating porting the landline no. to VOIP or just dropping it altogether.
My occupation requires making lots of calls and I'm thinking VOIP might be more cost effective, but I'm not keen on clients seeing my family's home number on caller ID and (potentially) using it to call me on.
My question: Is it possible to make calls from a VOIP number but occassionally set it to show my cell number on the caller ID - just for the outgoing calls that I make?
Also, does the fibre have to be in place before porting or can the number be ported to a VOIP account prior to the ADSL/Fibre switch?
Thanks
